Volunteer With Us
Great concerts start before the first note!
Our volunteers help welcome hundreds of audience members through our doors and play an important role in creating the friendly, accessible concert experience that defines the Ottawa Pops Orchestra.
Join our Front of House team for the 2026–27 season and help us welcome audiences, assist patrons, support our bar and merchandise operations, and keep concert days running smoothly.

ONE FRONT OF
HOUSE COMMUNITY.
This season, the Ottawa Pops Orchestra and Ottawa Symphony Orchestra are working together to create a more consistent Front of House experience at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre.
Volunteers can sign up for opportunities with both OPO and OSO, giving you more opportunities to get involved throughout the season.
The experience is largely the same across both orchestras: welcoming patrons, scanning tickets, helping guests find their seats, answering questions and supporting a great concert experience.
What changes between orchestras?
New to Tuxedo or Showpass? No problem. We'll provide the instructions and event-specific information you need before your shift.

CAN HELP.
There's a place for everyone on our Front of House team. No previous orchestra or event experience is required. We'll provide the information and training you need.
Welcome &
Patron Services
Be one of the first people our audience meets. Welcome patrons, answer questions and help direct guests throughout the venue.
Ushers &
Accessibility
Help patrons find their seats, support accessible seating needs and assist with audience movement before, during and after the performance.
Box Office &
Ticket Scanning
Welcome patrons at the entrance and scan digital or printed tickets using our box office system. Training is provided before your shift.
Bar &
Concessions
Help serve drinks and snacks before the concert and during intermission. Interested in doing more? OPO can help you become Smart Serve certified.
Merchandise &
Sales
Help patrons purchase orchestra merchandise and other items available during performances.
Event
Support
Help our Front of House and production teams with setup, signage, programs and other concert-day needs.
Volunteer Training

Smart Serve Training
Interested in getting more involved with our bar and beverage service?
OPO will cover the cost of your Smart Serve Certification if you're interested in joining our bar team.
Get certified, build new skills and take on additional responsibilities at OPO performances and eligible events.
