Under 30 Program

Overview

We understand how important music is for young people. That’s why we offer $25 tickets for anybody under the age of 30. And yes, that includes teens and kids! 

Challenge

High ticket prices can be a barrier to some young arts lovers, who may be discouraged from attending activities they love or exploring something new for the first time.  

OPO’s Strategy

We are committed to maintaining a reduced ticket price option for everyone under the age of 30.  

This means OPO absorbs the difference in cost to assist patrons that meet the age criteria to participate in an activity they love.  

And no, we do not limit the number of Under 30 tickets available for each show. If you meet the age requirements, the ticket type is available for you whether everyone in the audience is under 30 or not. 

Impact

The program extends beyond merely offering cheaper seats to young patrons. It promotes enjoyment of the arts, while offering avenues for youth to engage in different medians. In OPO’s case, young patrons can witness different genres of orchestra programs from well-known composers of movie soundtracks to video game music to animation and then more!  

It also helps inspire involvement in music such as learning an instrument for fun, studying as a career and playing professionally, and/or volunteering with arts organizations to support their programming  

The experience of attending and feelings resulting from a show are unmatchable so why would we want to place limits on who can attend?
